Soloists

Sally-Ann Bottomley

It would be presumptive to reintroduce the Saddleworth-born pianist to Oldham audiences. Suffice it to say that it is with very great pleasure that the orchestra welcomes back this extremely musical pianist.

Since she last played with us Sally Ann has studied in Paris with Perlemuter and currently is the only student of Stephen Bishop-Kovacevich. In 1981 she made her London recital debut at the Purcell Room and has since played on the South Bank and Wigmore Hall. Her concerto appearances have been with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Halle in the 1982 proms.

Programme

Andrzej Panufnik: Symphony No 3: Sinfonia Sacra

Sergei Prokofiev: Symphony No 7

Robert Schumann: Piano Concerto in A minor Op 54
