Soloists
James Cropper started to play the violin at the age of six. He became a pupil of Clifford Knowles (who was himself a pupil of Adolf Brodsky - the first man to play the Tchaikovsky Concerto) entering the Royal Manchester College of Music at the early age of twelve. On gaining his Performer's Diploma he joined the Halle Orchestra, with whom he played for the rest of his life.
