2001 - Present day: Richard Waldcock
Richard obtained a place at the RNCM to study double bass with Duncan McTier. In his work as a freelance professional he has played with the Hallé, BBC Philharmonic, RLPO, Camerata, Philharmonic Werkstaat (Switzerland) and other orchestral and chamber groups.
His link with the RNCM has allowed him to pursue his interest in conducting with Edward Warren and the college repertoire orchestra. In 2003 and 2004 Richard attended one of the world’s most acclaimed schools of conducting and participated in workshops with George Hirst, Rudolfo Saglimbeni, Robert Houlihan and Denise Ham. Richard directs the Oldham Symphony Orchestra, UMIST Symphony Orchestra, The Fellow’s Orchestra (University of Manchester) and has appeared as a guest conductor with the Northern Baroque Orchestra.

Adam Robinson

Born in 1980, Adam studied violin at the RSAMD under Elizabeth Layton, then in Prague with Jiri Fiser. After returning to Leeds in 2003 he freelanced with Northern Ballet Theatre, Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and Opera North. Last year, he was invited to direct the schools production of 'Pirates of Penzance' for the G and S company which involved training and conducting 120 primary school children to sing. After the successful performance it has now being launched nationally. Other conducting work has been with Bradford University orchestra. Adam met tonights soloists in the Seychelles International Orchestra and they play together in the Allerton String Quartet in Manchester. Adam invited Phillip to write tonight's overture.
