Written between 1801 and 1802, and dedicated to Karl Alois, Prince Lichnowsky. There are four movements: 1. Adagio molto, allegro con brio (very slowly, lively with vigour) 2. Larghetto (a little slow, stately) 3. Scherzo (playfully; literally 'a joke') 4. Allegro molto (very lively)
