OSO Soloist: Rosalie Curlett
Originally from Dorset, Rosalie is a freelance cellist and teacher based in Manchester. After being awarded a first class Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal Northern College of Music, Rosalie now plays regularly with many professional orchestras around the country, including Manchester Camerata, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Welsh National Opera. She has performed across the world – Beijing, Lucerne, Budapest, Prague, Warsaw – and is currently on trial with the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast. Rosalie has an active career as a teacher working for both Wigan and Bolton Music Services, as well as acting as head of pastoral care for the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain. She has had several guest appearances as a soloist with the Dorset County Orchestra where she has performed Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1 and, with her brother, Brahms’ Double Concerto for Violin and Cello. In her spare time, Rosalie enjoys singing as a member of the Manchester Cathedral Voluntary Choir.
